Medical professional college of Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical UniversityIn 2010 The Medical School of Lviv State Railway was reorganized into the Medical College, which became part of Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University as a structural subdivision.
The Medical College trains professional junior bachelors in the specialty 223 "Nursing", educational program "Nursing". The term of study is three years (on the basis of complete general secondary education) and four years (on the basis of basic general secondary education). The total licensed volume is 120 people. The training is mainly funded by individuals and legal entities.
The college has all the necessary classrooms and laboratories, a lecture hall for 120 seats, a library with a reading room for 30 seats and a total book fund of more than 16 thousand copies, a large gym. All rooms are provided with the necessary equipment, models and phantoms. Some of the classrooms are located on the bases of city and regional medical and preventive institutions.
The teaching staff consists of 40 full-time and 3 part-time teachers. The college employs doctors, teachers of general disciplines, pharmacists.
Modern material and technical base and high professional level of teachers provide professional training of nurses in accordance with international standards of nursing education.
The teachers of the college focus on the high quality of students' education. This is evidenced, in particular, by the indicator of the integrated licensing exam "KROK M - Nursing", which is 80-92%.
To enhance the scientific and cognitive activity of students, modern digital technologies, interactive teaching methods, educational platforms and tools are introduced into the educational process. Students are actively engaged in research work - they have repeatedly become winners and laureates of student scientific and practical conferences and competitions of professional skills. Students of the educational institution regularly win prizes in the regional stage of the International Ukrainian Language Competition named after P.Yatsyk, the International Language and Literary Competition named after T.Shevchenko.
Particular attention is paid to national-patriotic and professional education of students. The college annually organizes and conducts educational events on civic and patriotic, moral and legal, environmental and family education; competitions of professional skills "What we know, are able, can", "Nurse - golden hands". The "Club of Mercy" is actively working in Lviv orphanage №2.
The knowledge gained at the college enables graduates to work at a high professional level not only in Ukraine but also abroad. Graduates of the college continue their studies in various educational institutions of III-IV accreditation levels.
